Who we are

The Association of Proprietors of Approved Private Schools is a vibrant organisation that brings together private school owners with a shared vision of elevating the quality of education in our country. We also accommodate designated blood relations of School Owners or representatives of Mission Schools who are approved by the Executives of the school. Established in 1993, we are dedicated to transforming private schools into centres of educational excellence.
At our core, we believe that every child deserves access to an outstanding education that nurtures their potential and prepares them for a successful future. We strive to create a collaborative network of private schools that uphold the highest standards of academic achievement, character development, and holistic growth.
Through our association, we foster a culture of continuous improvement, providing our members with valuable resources, professional development opportunities, and a platform for knowledge sharing. By facilitating collaboration and the exchange of best practices, we empower school leaders to implement innovative teaching methods, embrace new technologies, and create engaging learning environments.
Equally important to us is the value we place on diversity and inclusivity. We actively promote an inclusive educational experience, where students from all backgrounds feel valued, respected, and supported. By embracing diversity, we aim to cultivate a vibrant community that celebrates individual differences and prepares students to thrive in a multicultural society.
Integrity and ethical conduct guide our actions, ensuring transparency, accountability, and trust within our organization and among our members. We foster a culture of ethical leadership, where school owners and principals serve as role models for their students and communities.
Furthermore, we actively engage with policymakers, educational stakeholders, and the wider community to advocate for the importance of private education and its significant contributions to the educational landscape. We strive to shape policies and initiatives that recognize and support the vital role of private schools in driving educational innovation and societal progress.
Our organization is driven by a student-centred approach, where the well-being, growth, and individual needs of each student are paramount. We believe in fostering a love for learning, critical thinking skills, and the development of character traits that will empower students to become responsible global citizens.
Join us on our journey as we work together to strengthen private education, inspire educational excellence, and create a transformative educational experience that prepares our students for a bright and successful future. Together, we can make a lasting impact on the lives of our students, our communities, and our nation.

Who we are

1. APAPS is a national organization of its kind with members in all 36 states.
2. APAPS is a non-profit organization that seeks to foster greater professionalism in the classroom.
3. APAPS serves professional educators who put the educational interests of students first and foremost.

What We Believe

1. APAPS believes that professional educators should belong to an organization that promotes their profession above personal gain.
2. APAPS believes strikes and boycotts are detrimental to students and to the reputation of teachers as professionals.
3. APAPS believes the keepers of the status quo in education are self-serving and misguided. We know that students learn differently so a one-size-fits-all learning environment is counterintuitive.

2. APAPS promotes classroom teachers as professionals.
3. APAPS only takes policy positions on issues germane to education.
