APAPS is a mission-driven non-profit professional association, serving tens of thousands of members throughout the country and supporting educators nationwide.
Candidates for APAPS Membership
Approval requirements
To be admitted to full membership of the association, candidate must have (Heads/Principals/School Leaders) required to be the person in day-to-day control of the school.
- To be admitted to membership, satisfactory inspection standards with approval by State Ministry of Education must be reached and maintained.
- Where there are no significant regulatory failings and where inspection judgements meet the standards, the heads of schools will be eligible to be brought into membership and on admission to membership, must pay membership fees and other charges applicable at the time of admission.
- Members are required to maintain their high standard by submitting their schools to inspections by an approved inspectorate of the State Ministry of Education.
- APAPS offers regular training opportunities and support to help ensure that standards are maintained.
- All schools/colleges with more than 5 pupils of compulsory school age are required to be registered with the State Ministry of Education and to undergo a Government approved inspection. IN AN ELECTION!
Collective Bargaining
APAPS does not engage in collective bargaining. We believe that collective bargaining focuses on what’s best for adults, not necessarily students.
Spend Dues
APAPS does not spend any of our members’ dues on partisan politics nor do we support or oppose controversial agendas unrelated to education.
Canvas for Candidates
APAPS does not tell members which candidates to vote for–a refreshing change compared to other teacher associations.
